How to use a macro to masterwork using common scrolls

Some people have been asking me to make a guide on how to macro common scrolls to try and masterwork an item. Without making a macro its time consuming clicking each scroll until the item masterworks so with this guide I'll show you how to automate the process so you can go and do other things and not have to babysit it.

This guide is for the Axife Mouse Recorder Demo so if your using any other program's besides this one you'll have to figure out on your own how to macro using that program because each program will work differently. This mouse clicker is not pixel based so you will not have control over your mouse so you cannot tab out and do other things.

The first thing you'll need to do is open Axife Mouse Recorder you will see a screen like this:

Click on the very first one since we will only need the simple functions to macro the simple task of using common scrolls on an item. And a small box will pop up with some functions that allow you to record:

Then you'll want to click on the record button and click into the game so that what you do effects the active Tera Online window.

To make it easy you want the item your enchanting in the top corner then next to it common enigmatic scrolls and next to it common identification scrolls. We first click the common enigmatic scroll and use it on the item making it the silver question mark you see above. Then we use the common identification scroll to identify it then we tab out of game and stop recording with the program. Then you put the number in the box below the record for how many times you want it to repeat the process like if you have 100 scrolls you want to set it for 100 and if you have 1000 scrolls you set it for 1000. Once you hit play it will continue to use scrolls on the item until either the item is masterworked or until it runs out of scrolls.

Masterworked items cannot be rerolled with common scrolls so once an item masterworks the macro will be unable to continue using scrolls on it so you don't have to worry about wasting scrolls that could be saved for the next item.

Lastly just wanted to say that this isn't a hack or anything of that kind its just a process of repeating the same tedious task over and over without doing it by hand. If your unsure about using any macro programs then just don't use them this guide was intended for people that wanted to know how. If you have questions concerns or want to brag about your success feel free to leave a comment.

Update this is still working as of 8/12/2013 Masterworked the mayhem sword in 200 CES also someone was kind enough to demonstrate how to use the program with a youtube video you can watch it here

  1. Can it be that TERA doesnt accept mouse movement from that little tool? My mouse stands stillas soon as i tap into TERA. :(

    1. It does work cause its the same tool that i use all the time but remember you have to tab record the process of using the scroll then tab out stop the program then put in the times to repeat the process and hit play and it will automaticly tab into game for you and start repeating the process.

    2. Ok, I have the same problem... I tried everything, window mode FS mode, waiting, not waiting. All 3 modes on Axife and it's the same every time. The moment I switch to Tera window Axife just stops to recognize any kind of action, whether it's keystrokes, mouse movement or mouse clicks... It just does not record it. It works fine otherwise but in Tera it simply stops recording the moment I switch tabs out of Tera it starts recording again? Any ideas?

    3. Then try running as an administrator or checking with your antivirus. Norton antivirus will stop certain programs which take control of different functions of your mouse some firewalls do that as well. And the administrator function can also stop some actions like that as well.

  2. How would you get it to roll through more than 200 scrolls without resetting the program? It can get through 2 100 stacks if you use a part of one and then switch them out, but beyond 200, you have to manually reset it.

    1. If you use the setup above with them like you see in the inventory you just buy 1 stack of each type as many times as your trying so for example if I'm doing 500 scrolls i would buy 500 common enigmatic's and 500 common identification scrolls put 500 in the box to repeat and then it uses them from the bottom of the inventory to the top.

  3. oh thank you for that. I always kept it at the bottom. I still haven't had any success with common though. Spent about 2500 on 1 item and nothing.

    1. Yeah its still an RNG chance though I'm finding out it is time based though each character has a different time in which luck for masterworking works. My slayers masterworking so far has been around the same time between 2:00-4:00 i haven't really pinpointed it down to an exact time because so far i've only masterworked about 7 items during that time frame but if i had to guess i would imagine they use a calculation which works down to the minute of certain hours for a player. A calculation which would look similar to:

      UID / 24 / 1440= usrtime

      if (usrtime == time) masterwork item;

Of course we don't know exactly all of the variables which are used in the formula for masterworking but any RNG or 'random' chance done by a computer is never really random even doing a program which specifies a rand() function could be figured out with another computer and broken down. That's why during the calculation of RNG time is always the main randomized factor cause its the only thing that would cause it to be possible for a person to fail over 100 scrolls without ever having a higher chance at success. And because everyone seems to have different luck people just assume that it's all completely random and come up with various voodoo superstitions about how the system works. So i would track the times of success over anything and if you could time it down to the minutes or seconds for your own characters use that over anything and see if the data keeps matching up for that same character. Its possible it could use times down to seconds or could be two formula's one to find lucky hours of the day and the other to break those hour's down to lucky minutes or seconds without knowing what the source code is we can only guess unless a person could collect enough success data and figure our a formula which allows them to masterwork with a really small amount of attempts like say within 100 or 200 scrolls.

  4. I got it to work the first time. And then the second time I try it didnt work. I dont know what i did wrong though. After I click play, the mouse stop moving after it got into Tera.T_T

  5. Did you make sure that you recorded the full action including clicking into game with the record and also increasing the amount of times you want to to repeat? There will also be some delay within the record while its in game but that's related to the clicking into game.

    1. tried 500 more ces last night, still no success. so i had 79 mes saved up and decided to try my luck with them, took 17 mes and it got masterworked. i had high hopes for ces.

    2. Well should keep in mind the time that you masterworked the item cause its defiantly going to be time based with mes and ces the percentage isn't much of a difference but the time you used the 2k ces most likely wasn't around the same time as when it masterworked so next time even if your going to just use mes should try around the same time.

  7. Used ces and mw gloves 3rd try (lvl48) and mw disc 125+ attempts (lvl 50) and 1200+ tries on (lvl 60) disc and 6 mes and still no mw..... I think the higher the level the lower the chance.

    1. Actually the chance doesn't change when it comes to being higher level but a lower level item has a higher chance of masterworking in general. So for example the chance to masterwork a level 60 item will always be 0.5% chance while a MES is 3% chance but with how RNG works even if you have 100 MES scrolls that does not give you a 100% chance to masterwork an item cause its not a stacking chance. RNG means each time you attempt to masterwork an item you have 0.5% chance its more or less whether its the lucky window of time when the game decides that you have the highest varible chance of masterworking. That's why i recomend that you keep track of the specific time an item masterworks because its going to be some multible of time calculation it will vary person to person because of the way they calculate it. And how I know that if you use over 100 scrolls of MES it doesn't mean you'll have a 100% chance to masterwork an item I have a friend that plays on ktera and she has the worst luck when it comes to masterworking she used 758 MES before finally masterworking an item. I know if it took me that many MES and I daily grinded KN everyday to get more scrolls to fail I most likely wouldn't have kept playing but if we looked at it from a percentage point of view she should have been able to masterwork around 7 items but because RNG's luck resets with each attempt you will never hit 100% chance unless you hit a time based varible. I mean if I had access to the servers source code of how masterworking is calculated it could be broken down to making it so you could use 1 to 2 scrolls of any type and masterworking an item but we don't have that option.

  8. You can try it this way , setup hotkeys that is not used in Tera for start/stop recording and start/stop playback...
Go ingame and open your inventory , set it up like how fuyuko did and press the hotkey to start recording. Press the same hotkey to stop once you done one cycle.
Then you press the 2nd hotkey to start playback and it will work depends on how many times u set it to repeat.
If you do it by recording and tabbing in and out it have high chance to get messed up.
When you are recording make sure after every click you allow time for the animations/windows to pop up. One cycle usually is about 20-25seconds for me.

    1. Ive found instead of one cycle record 3-4 then set repeat to 100 if your using the right stack of ces and cis it will repeat your cycle of 3-4 times and it will repeat 100 times meaning you can then do 3-4 100 stacks of ces and cis
Thats what im doing and ive had no problems yet

  9. Works great took seconds to set up and no problems. But havnt used long enough to get a masterwork yet =D thanks for the great tutorial

  10. If we get Master Work, will it disappear if the macro continues to use de CES? Because I'm not watching the process, i leave this working at night. Pls reply, also thank you for this thread :)

    1. It won't allow you to use CES after its masterworked so you won't lose it.

  13. Heya,

Thanks for this wonderful guide, I made a quick video to "illustrate" what you wrote and gave you credits for it ;)
On a side note, it didn't work for me until I started the mouse recorder as administrator (since I run TERA as administrator).
